What is #leapdiscovered?
#leapdiscovered is a series of shout outs of things to do in our community. Since the Discovery Center will be centered around pretend play in a kid size community, we thought it would be fun to explore our real local community to share with our followers and fans in order to highlight local businesses and give our families great places to discover, have fun, and grow as a family. We hope you enjoy the many places we share. There will be three categories that will be featured; Things to do as a family, How to grow your family and Avoid the Summer Slide, and Discover hidden Gems (small businesses doing great things in our community). Have fun with your own discoveries!!
The Museum of Ice Cream is located near the Domain in Austin, Texas. It is a very novel fun place to spend a couple of hours taking pictures and being silly, surrounded by PINK. It was more of an artsy representation of experiencing ice cream rather than a historical representation. You must buy tickets online before you go so it is best you plan ahead. Online says tickets are $21-$24 for special times, but we discovered every time slot is a different price from $24 to $40, plus they have about $10 per ticket additional fees with the online service. It can be pretty costly for what you get if you don’t plan ahead. While you are there, you get to enjoy all of the playfully displayed rooms, and stop at each of the three ice cream stations. The ice cream is unlimited and so is the cotton candy. The part I enjoyed most was making fun pictures. The kids enjoyed playing in the pool of sprinkles, which is where we spent most of our time. Fun memories with the time spent, but not sure we’d go again because of the cost. Would love to hear about your experiences and see some fun shots you may have captured.
